There isn’t a day that goes by where we don’t get asked, “what do you think of this exercise, stretch, supplement, training program, diet, etc…”
First off, kudos to the people that are asking and looking for answers.
With so much information out there, it’s easy to start looking in the wrong areas or skip over the fundamentals.
Jumping in straight to the advanced level or getting too technical, can be one of the quickest ways to stop your progress when it comes to your health.
Common sense has become an afterthought in the search for the next silver bullet.
Your attention and energy is limited.
Here are 10 common sense things that people forget about when it comes to their health and fitness:
1. Tying up your shoelaces and/or wearing appropriate footwear for training.
2. Wearing a seatbelt and not texting on your phone whilst driving.
3. Flossing your teeth.
4. Drinking water.
5. Eating vegetables.
6. Warming up before exercise.
7. Sleeping for 7+ hours per night.
8. Being nice to people.
9. Making your bed.
10. Laughing daily.
So, before you ask another health and fitness question, make sure you’re doing all of the above, first.
Don’t think you can neglect any of these without repercussions. Your body is like a scoreboard, whether you like it or not.
If you skip sleep, text whilst driving and act like a complete asshole, don’t start shopping for creatine or start the keto diet.
Move the big rocks first!
